Leading Academics descended on Galway for the Joint International Conference on Environment, Health, GIS and Agriculture at the National University of Ireland, Galway.

Go West Conference & Event Management ran the conference on behalf of Failte Ireland conference ambassador Dr. Chaosheng Zhang from NUIG.  The conference saw some 300 international delegates come to Galway for the week long conference to attend academic sessions as well as field trips to Connemara, the Burren region and the Aran Islands.  The conference provided a historical opportunity for international experts working in several closely related areas of environment, health, geographical information system (GIS) and agriculture, to meet and share the latest understanding of the ever growing challenges between humans and the changing environment.

The Conference programme included a welcome reception in NUI Galway including a recital performance in the Bailey Allen Hall.  The conference opened on Monday August 15th and included keynote speeches as well as parallel sessions for ISEH, ISEG & GIS.

The event also included exhibition and sponsorship management along with dedicated delegate services and onsite registration.  This academic conference saw over 300 abstract submissions with a comprehensive book of abstracts, oral and poster sessions throughout the conference.

The 300 delegates were accommodated on campus at Corrib Village as well as numerous Galway city centre hotels including the Radisson Blu Hotel, Meyrick Hotel and the Imperial.

Delegates enjoyed a gala dinner evening at the Radisson Blu hotel on the Tuesday evening of the conference and were entertained with traditional Irish music & dance.

The last three days of the conference saw delegates partake in three field trips in the West of Ireland.

The first field trip included a trip to the UNESCO region of the Burren.  Delegates visited the world famous Cliffs of Moher and enjoy seafood lunch in Doolin before returning to Galway.  The second field trip brought delegates to Connemara and the stunning Kylemore Abbey followed by another field trip to the Aran Islands.

Go West also ran a number of pre and post conference tours all over Ireland including the Ring of Kerry, Dingle Peninsula, Cork, Belfast and Dublin.

Go West Team

I take great pleasure in recommending Go West Conference & Event Management as a professional conference organiser (PCO) to you.

I have my successful experience of working with Go West for two international conferences of SEGH 2010 and ISEH 2016 ISEG 2016 Geoinformatics 2016. The feedback from my delegates regarding the administration for both conferences was very positive, especially when there were a large number of requests for visa letters. The services from Go West were professional, including all the processes of conference budget management, online submission, accommodation booking, venue preparation, fieldtrip arrangement, communication with delegates and preparation for conference programme and book of abstracts.

I am deeply impressed that the responses from Go West to conference chair and delegates were always quick and often proactive. Meanwhile, the local knowledge of Go West was very helpful to improve the organization for conference activities.
