Sample Itinerary Dublin & Galway
DAY 1: DUBLIN & GALWAY
On arrival to Dublin Airport you will be met by a professional Tour Guide and a Driver who will accompany you on a panoramic tour by coach of Dublin City. The guide will entertain the group with an interesting commentary on all of the sites that they pass including Phoenix Park, Christchurch Cathedral, St Patrick’s Cathedral and Trinity College.
In the afternoon you will visit the Guinness Storehouse originally built in 1904 to house the Guinness fermentation process. The core of the Guinness Storehouse building is modelled on a giant pint glass, stretching up from reception on the ground floor to the Gravity Bar in the sky. If filled this giant pint would hold approximately 14.3 million pints of Guinness. At Guinness Storehouse you’ll discover all there is know about the world famous beer. On arrival the group will enjoy a light lunch before going on a tour of the building finishing in the gravity bar with its panoramic views of Dublin for a pint of Guinness.

DAY 2: AN EXCLUSIVE INTERACTIVE CULTURAL EXPERIENCE IN A UNIQUE AND TRADITIONAL SETTING
You will visit Cnoc Suain (restful hill) a small renovated village of thatched and slated stone cottages located on 200 acres of stunningly beautiful ancient landscape, bog, lake and sea. Some of the cottages date back to 1691. As Gaelic speakers, musicians, natural scientists and owners of this historic hill village, Dearbhaill Standun and Charlie Troy are the perfect hosts for the group. They will accompany you on a short walk through the Connemara Bogland that surrounds Cnoc Suain. Charlie will introduce you to the fascinating archaeology & natural history of the bog including turf harvesting.
In one of the old thatch cottages, Dearbhaill, a native Gaelic speaker will relay the history of the local area. You will hear the Irish language spoken and enjoy stories about the life and customs of the inhabitants of the cottage. Dearbhaill, a talented musician is a founder member of the much acclaimed traditional music group Dordan. She will play the fiddle and will be accompanied by a local musician on the accordion and tin whistle. There may even be an opportunity to learn an Irish dance! We will continue our journey to Ashford Castle, one of the most exclusive luxury hotels in the World and home to Ireland’s oldest established School of Falconry. The route taken will give them a taste of the scenery that Connemara is famous for as they travel along the shore of Lough Corrib through the villages of Oughterard and Clonbur
The group will enjoy a delicious lunch in Ashford Castle before they participate in a 90 minute private Hawk Walk through the grounds of the Castle where they will fly the hawks. No previous experience is necessary. An experienced instructor will introduce them to their hawk and soon they will be setting off around the magnificent woodlands to fly a hawk free. As they fly the hawks, their instructor will explain about the hawks’ exceptional eyesight, their speed and agility and how the hawks were trained. The hawks will follow the group from tree to tree through the woods before swooping down to land on a gloved fist.
After the Hawk Walk, there is an opportunity for the group to stop off at Cullen’s Pub on the grounds for some refreshments before they participate in a guided walking tour of Cong Village. The walking tour will include Cong Abbey, the Monks fishing houses, the dry canal and a stroll through Cong Village to see movie locations of the 1952 production of “The Quiet Man.
The group are at leisure to explore the lively night life of Galway.
DAY 2 – FULL DAY TOUR TO THE ARAN ISLANDS
09h30 The group will depart their hotel to Rossaveal. Your Tour Guide will accompany you on your visit to the Aran Islands.
10h30 Depart Rossaveal by ferry to Inis Mor, the largest of the 3 Aran Islands. Inis Mor is criss-crossed by dry stone walls and the landscape is bleak with soaring cliffs rising out of the Atlantic. Aran has retained much of old Gaelic culture and Gaelic is still the spoken language of the Islanders. Traditional music and song have been well preserved there. Guests are transferred by minibus for a guided tour of the Island including The Dun Aengus Fort, a 4000 year old fort situated on top of 400-ft high cliffs. You will walk to the fort and on your return continue the tour by minibus. and finish back in Kilronan Village where you will enjoy an appetising lunch in Tigh Joe Watty’s – a traditional Irish pub with a thatch roof. After lunch you will have some free time in the village to explore the local craft shops and pubs.
DAY 3 – DEPARTURE
En route to Dublin Airport you will stop in the lovely village of Glasson for lunch in the Wineport Lodge. This award winning restaurant has a most unique setting on the edge of Ireland’s peaceful Inland Waterways. After lunch we will continue our journey to Dublin Airport.
